American actor kevin bacon warned on a TV show that he would turn to his lawyer after he was shown that an Argentine burger restaurant bears his name.
Bacon is bacon in English, so it doesn’t seem unreasonable that someone thought of using the actor’s name to identify their food establishment. The striking thing in this case was the reaction of the American star.
The protagonist of the series The following and movies like The man without a shadowamong others, he was a guest on the Late Night with Jimmy Kimmel program, one of the most important presenters and interviewers of current television in the United States.
Kimmel, like many in this television format, often tries to get his interviewee out of routine questions. And he did it with a reference to our country.
“This is a fast food restaurant in Argentina… and it looks like his name is Kevin Bacon Fast Good, “the driver told the actor, who looked embarrassed by the guest chair.
The hamburger restaurant is located in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo, an area of the City that, Bacon ignores, has a wide range of restaurants and, many of them, with names that are apparently catchy or ingenious to attract customers.
The actor didn’t care and, amidst annoyances and uncomfortable smiles, he replied: “Of course they didn’t have approval to use that photo“. And she remarked: “It’s not a nice picture, it’s a clown’s face.”
The circular logo has a sector on a black background that reads Kevin Bacon and “Fast Good”, like a pun for a good fast food restaurant.
Inside the circle appears Bacon’s face, outlined in black on a yellow background.
“I think there are other restaurants called Kevin Bacon that I don’t get any money from either,” the actor mused, and then he left the bittersweet moment, but with another letter up his sleeve.
Already with a smile on his face, undermining the curiosity they presented him live, the actor concluded: “I’ll talk to my lawyer”.
Meanwhile, Kimmel added: “You know you are famous when you get scammed in Argentina“. It was a joke attempt by someone who probably doesn’t know how big the scam business is in this country.
What they agreed on is that the photos of the burgers “look pretty good,” but they don’t look healthy, as they are sandwiches with several pairs of sandwiches; two, three and even four meats and various “toppings” of melted cheese.
The interview went viral and the owners of the place decided to change the name of the place, initially on their social networks, while not commenting on it publicly.
What is certain is that even if Bacon’s threat seemed to have been a joke, the company preferred to avoid any kind of legal conflict with the star with the gastronomic surname who inspired the name of the hamburger restaurant.
