Star Plus has just confirmed that the premiere of Santa Evita, the series starring Natalia Oreiro, as Eva Duarte de Perón, will premiere on July 26.

Holy Avoid It is a fiction based on the Argentine writer’s best seller of the same name Thomas Eloy Martinez and goes on the intriguing story of Eva Perón’s embalmed body after her deathwhich was kept waiting to be buried for three years for the construction of a monument that never materialized.

In 1955, Argentine military forces overthrew then-president Juan Domingo Perón and hid Evita’s body for 16 years, in order to prevent it from becoming a weapon against the regime.

Before his death, Eve had become a powerful political figure as the wife of General Perón, and her wandering unburied corpse influenced the country’s politics for more than two decades. Holy Avoid It is the story of a body without a tomb and of the legend that was born around it.
