There are famous animals, some very famous, like the Turuleca henimmortalized by the song of the Spanish clowns Gaby, Fofó and Miliki in the 70s. Sung for several generations, today comes an animated version of this peculiar bird in cinemas across the country on Thursday 14 July, with a fun story for the whole family.

As in any animated film, the characters have recognizable voices played by famous actors and actresses. In this case they are part of the cast of Guillermo Francella, Flavia Palmiero and Sofi Morandi The Turuleca hen.

Who’s who in the cast

Guillermo Francella will play a villain in this story. It will be the actor who will give life, with his voice, to Armando Tramas, an evil and manipulative man, cynical and extremely ambitious who will only try to appropriate Turuleca.

While the actress and children’s presenter Flavia Palmiero will be Isabel, an impulsive, cheerful, kind elderly lady who will have a very special and close bond with the famous hen.

For its part, Sofia Morandiactress, dancer and presenter, will play Lucía, a trapeze artist, very cheerful and outgoing who will make friends with the Turuleca hen, with whom she will share various adventures.

In addition, the famous presenter participates in the film with their voices Rolo Villar and dubbing actress Agustina Cirulnik, who plays other characters.

The story of the animated film centers on this cute little animal who, in his quest to be loved, lays eggs and finds the love of his life, discovers that it is unique and original. But not for that characteristic, Turuleca wants to stop being what she is, a simple hen, like her farm companions.

Based on the song of the same name, “Turu” will try to find its place in the world. And thanks to his talent, he will be able to overcome his fears and start a great adventure that will allow him to reunite with his loved ones.

Sensitive, dreamer, enterprising, funny, tender, understanding, fearful and creative, Turuleca arrives on the big screen to become a new character, an accomplice of the little ones, taking advantage of these winter holidays.

The peculiar aspect e its inability to spawn causes ridicule from the rest of the coop, until one day Isabel, a former music teacher, takes her to live on her farm. There, happy and in harmony, the hen discovers her great talent hidden within her: she knows how to speak and sing like she has never heard a hen sing.

The musical talent of the plumifera will lead her to become the great star of the fascinating Daedalus Circus. However, her journey will not be easy, since the circus is threatened by the evil Armando Tramas, who wants to appropriate the fantastic Turuleca for his own advantage.

The Turulec hena was the winner of the Goya Award for Best Animated Film and also received the Ibero-American Cinema Platinum Award for Best Animated Film.

Additionally, the animated film was selected to be screened at the San Sebastian International Film Festival.
