They jumped from the TV to the theater and broke it. the guilty girls Tickets are sold out and are on their way one of the phenomena of Corrientes avenue of this year. Malena Guinzburg, Fernanda Metilli, Connie Ballarini and Natalia Carulias are the quartet that fills the hall of the Metropolitan Sura every Friday, almost at dawn, in a festive atmosphere.

The title of the show is a direct legacy of TV when, at midnight on Telefe, before the pandemic, comedians did Blame it on Colombo. The format worked people recognized them as “the guilty girls”.

Since they arrived at Corrientes Avenue in January 2021, first at Paseo La Plaza and now, at Metropolitan Sura, they have already been more than 60 thousand spectators who saw the work. Add to that the thousands of people who streamed the shows and another 15,000 who saw the show on weekday tours across the country, where even tickets are sold out.

The jump from the screen to the tables

-Before coming to the theater, they did their show in an almost marginal television schedule, what was it like to go from TV to a room with a live audience?

Malene: The best thing is the audience, the adrenaline of doing everything with the people who are there, transforms every performance into a party.

Conny: Having the audience reaction right now, the laugh that motivates, stimulates and empowers you, is priceless. Our show looks like a girl preview and the audience is one more.

Natalia: The energy that we feel and that people feel in the theater is not comparable to anything. We were able to adapt to all formats but, without a doubt, our place is the theater.

Fernanda: Doing what was done on TV, but with the audience as a witness and being part of the show, it’s crazy. It is true that we like both formats, so now we just have to do the program on television and with a platform. Beware that the TV is missing a program!

-What is teamwork like? Does each have a more specific role or are they improvising?

Conny: Teamwork is everything and it is our key to success, we think of it as a team and play like that. One comes up with an anecdote or an idea and we all play based on that. It is not that one wants to show off. One shines and we all shine no matter who scores the goal.

Fernanda: We all do everything, but clearly personalities are seen in every situation, both when doing an assignment and when playing on stage. We are all different and together, we empower each other. the guilty girls It’s like a soccer team.

Malene: We work very well together and complement each other. Sometimes, without proposing it, things more typical of everyone happen but, with the audience, what comes out is the improvisation based on triggers that open the game.

Natalia: When teamwork works well, it doesn’t fail. The metaphor of the goal is beautiful: it does not matter who does it, the rest has made the passes and it is always the four o’clock goal.

a unique state of mind

-How would you define your style of humor?

Fernanda: Unique. I think it cannot be “defined” because, although everyone has their own style, the four of us together create a different language.

Conny: I agree that it is quite indefinable. We are super honest we have fun without filters and we are surprised at the same time. We stage what is happening to us in life, our contradictions, we take charge of all this and we transform it into humor.

Natalia: Our humor has to do with something genuine, true, what really happens to us. There is never a posture and this is one of the keys by which the show works. You can say anything outrageous, but from a place so true it doesn’t fail.

Malene: Personally and I think the same thing happens to them, I try to be as authentic as possible, I try to minimize everything, at least on stage. And that’s what we convey.

-You have a very loyal audience that celebrates in the theater as if it were at a party, what do you think is the thing that strikes you the most about the proposal?

Natalia: I think there are several things: the audience feels part of it, they always tell us it’s like spying on a group of friends talking about intimacy in the most cheeky and fun way. And also, it identifies with what we have. I think we opened that game of “come, we invite you to be part of this intimacy “, and this hooks up.

Malene: Yes, there is the feeling of being one more, one more, and that too every week is a different showwhich also attracts.

Fernanda: We talk about different things in each function and that makes it what happens the guilty girls be our and our audience.

Conny: Also, there is something that draws attention and it is that he doesn’t know what the show is, nor do we know. Is it a show ?, a stand up ?, a television program in the theater ?, a preview of friends? And it’s nothing of the sort. We have a north, but if it was painted to go elsewhere, we all just go there.

There is something unexpected, spontaneous and organic that is not normal that makes it something unique and people are wondering if it was scripted or not. It is all of this together.

a question of limits

-None of the four have a lot of filters and seem to be capable of anything on stage, is there anything that means a limit for making humor?

Fernanda: We already know each other and we know how far to go and we always know that the other is the limit. With myself I can go anywhere, but with others there is always a limit. This is the good thing for us, who know how far to go with each one.

Conny: It seems to me that the limit is whether we are generating grace or not. It’s enough for me to go to hell and it’s part of the show “let’s take care of Connie“. And on the contrary, to Naty, who asks”take care of me“, we pierced it to continue. It is always the pursuit of humor.

Natalia: It’s true. We have no limits on what topics to play, but we have limits on how to handle ourselves. It has to do with the way we create humor where the limit is not to hurt the other. But this comes naturally. As for what we are willing to do, with the network we have between us, it is unlimited because it will always work.

Malene: As it is, that limit of not offending or fooling anyone comes naturally, we don’t think about it, it just comes out. For the rest, let’s talk about anything.

-Is the fact of working with friends an advantage?

Malene: No doubt. We let the production not listen to us, but we would pay to do what we do.

Natalia: We work to make people laugh, which is what we love, with friends with whom we take care of ourselves and take responsibility. I think it’s another key, that’s why it can’t go wrong. We are experiencing something incredible.

Do they ever fight? Do you always agree on everything?

Conny: We get along. Even after the show, when everyone comes home, we are so crazy that we start exchanging messages of love and admiration, it’s beautiful.

Fernanda: Well, something is wrong. The meetings never reach us, but never, we are short of time. We always have other things to do.

-With this show, do you end the prejudice that a humorous show led by four women only attracts a female audience?

Malene: Before a women’s show it was thought that only women could see it and now that it has been canceled, things were changing. Everyone comes and everyone has fun.

Fernanda: I think we are part of a path sown by all the women who have dedicated themselves and continue to dedicate themselves to humor. We must always thank who was there, who is and who will come.
