comings and goings, but always present love

There were 60 chapters with which the stories of the six protagonist friends were developed lights and shadows but always protected by mutual love. In the last episode that has manifested itself more than ever, supported by a credible script, with shares of humor and optimism between many tears and good performances.

the first of us He had already marked, from the beginning, where the plot went with the story of Santiago’s terminal illness (Vicuña) in the foreground. That starting point set the tone for everything that came after, affecting the lives of each of the characters.

Here because, the biggest expectation of the final episode was not what would happen, but how it would be resolved. Despite the fact that Vicuña’s character showed an apparent improvement, his death came as a logical result. In this sense, the scene in which Santiago dies had a touching finesse.

quiet and subtle finish

The character has lived his end wrapped in the tranquility of his daily life: after greeting his wife and son who are out for a walk, Santiago is at home, reading a book when he starts to feel bad. Aware that his death is approaching, he lies down on a sofa and, looking at a photo of him with Jimena (Krum) and their children, Uma (Rocío Gómez Wlosko) and Julián, leaves.

This is how Jimena finds the one who, resigned and torn, fires him and warns his friends. Everyone reacts in his own way, trying to assimilate the pain of a goodbye announced, but never completely accepted.

The final chapter also closes the other stories: Nico (Castro) and Valeria (Aruzzi) are seen in their new reality as parents of the three siblings they have adopted, and with the added joy of knowing that they are expecting a new baby.

Soledad (Funes), more licensed and independent, managed to have her own business, a pastry shop, and redirect her marriage to Gustavo (Sebastián Presta), who also put together her acts to carry on the business.

Despite the sadness and pain that marked the end of this story, in the end there was also room for a festive atmosphere, with The wedding of Nico and Valeria where everything was joy and positivity, with love expressed in all its variations. And also with new couples like the one formed by Ernesto (Daniel Fanego), Santiago’s father, with Adriana (Marita Ballesteros), Valeria’s mother.

where there is pain there is life

Just as some of its protagonists had anticipated, the tone was farewell, but also optimistic. “Where there is pain there is also life, there is love, there is friendship, there is beauty”, Krum said in an interview.

Vicuña had said the same about the end of the story: “The people who are willing to experience this journey in the last week, I assure you that they will not only cry, but they will take lessons“.

The characters have made many of their dreams come true thanks to the blow that learning Santiago’s terminal illness has meant and that has led them to rethink their lives to move forward and look to the future.

At the close, the wedding full of joy, followed by the funeral and farewell, full of tears and pain. And then, in a new turn of the wheel of life, joy returned with the first birthday of Julián, son of Santiago and Jimena, which brought everyone together again. This time, without one of them, but present in the memory.
