Instead, the date chosen by a large number of fans was July 10, because on such a day but in 1964, the British band were returning to their native Liverpool after a huge and successful US tour.
They even arrived in time for the premiere of the film A hard day’s nightstarring themselves and named by the magazine one of the 100 best films of all time Time.

How he lived in Liverpool

An image that would repeat itself every time the Beatles approached the public: Beatlemania was born.
“About 3,000 enthusiastic fans were waiting at Liverpool airport for the Beatles to arrive from their first US tour. They were arriving just in time for the UK premiere of A hard day’s nightan event which was complemented by a large official reception by the Liverpool authorities.
They were taken to the town hall with police custody in motion. Although the route was guarded by a police wall, on several occasions a group of hysterical fans (clearly mostly teenage girls) managed to breach security and interrupted the parade for a few minutes.
They arrived at the town hall at 6:55 pm 25 minutes late. There they were received by the parliamentarian Elizabeth bessi Braddock and, above all, member of the Tha Cavern Club, as evidenced by a pin on his coat.
The pride of a city
The Beatles hugged her and she said: “I’m happy to see you, dear”. After their meal they went out onto the Castle Street balcony to the cheers of the crowd, while the municipal police band played You can not buy Me Love.

The day was hectic. Shortly before 9pm they left for the Odeon Cinema for the premiere of A hard day’s night. At that point, the authorities confirmed it blocks the largest security operation in Liverpool’s history.
