Two days after a narrowly avoided altercation with Vald at the La Rochelle festival, Booba returns to this tense evening in an interview with the Parisian.

“There is no war with Vald.” Booba returns this Monday at the Parisian about his rivalry with the rapper from Aulnay-sous-Bois. Rivalry that almost led to an altercation on Friday, on the sidelines of the Francofolies party.

A CRS cordon had to be deployed to prevent the rap teams from crossing each other and ensure the arrival of Booba, who started his concert an hour and a quarter late.

“What is sad is because of the people who had to wait for me for almost an hour and a half and because it gives a bad image of rap for nothing. Well, we tickled the nets but we didn’t.” We’re going to do a beating operation at a festival. We came in peace,” he said in the newspaper.

“It’s not a real war”

The two artists, who have been attacking each other for months online, against a backdrop of streaming fraud allegations on music platforms, have been joking all Friday on social media.

Shortly before his rival’s show, Vald appeared on stage escorted by thirty “bodyguards”, whom he introduced as relatives who had come to celebrate his 30th birthday. Mocked on Twitter by the rapper from Boulogne-Billancourt, the artist settled down after his performance on a deckchair, blocking Booba’s access to the stage.

“I think he was afraid that I would do something to him, but there is no reason. With Vald, I don’t care, I’m kidding, it’s not a real war. And we don’t box in the same category. He wanted to make a show of force, to prevent Booba from singing but he failed, ”says the interpreter of DKR.

However, the organizers and the CRS had to intervene to allow the rapper to go on stage.

“There will inevitably be repercussions”

Booba – sentenced to 18 months in prison after his brawl at Orly with Kaaris in 2018 – explains that he did not respond to his counterpart’s provocations to avoid a confrontation that could cost him money and send him back to prison.

“We were waiting for the ‘go’ of the festival, for security reasons. If we went there, if we met, it was a general fight. But we preferred to avoid. […] I will not fight for Vald, he is not my sworn enemy, not like when I met Kaaris. There is no story, there is no war with Vald”, specifies Booba.

At the end of her performance, Booba however, he demanded compensation from Vald. According to him, these tensions have caused damage to his image and to his public image. “You can’t come to a festival and put on such a show of force, with people coming for shit, there will inevitably be a backlash,” he concludes.
