One of the funniest musicals, and to be enjoyed with the whole family, is back on the Buenos Aires bill. Shrek the musicalthe Broadway blockbuster conceived by Dreamworks Theatricals and produced in Argentina by The Stage Company, is on every day of the winter holidays – except Monday 25 July -, and will continue later on weekends, until 21 August, again at 16:00 .
Under the general direction of Carla Calabrese, the show first premiered in 2015 and is now back on the same stage, with some cast changes. With a book and song lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and original music by Jeanine Tesori, the opera has been adapted into Spanish by Marcelo Kotliar y Calabrese.
Shrek He was the big winner at the time of the Hugo Awards for musical theater, earning six awards. At the ceremony, which was the sixth awards ceremony, the local production won the statuettes for best leading actor (paolo sultaninawho was Shrek), supporting actor (Roberto PeloniLord Farquaad), male revelation (Talo Silveyra, who played Donkey), production and, perhaps the most important, the Gold, or the best of the season for Roberto Peloni.
