U2 members are working hard to perform in Las Vegas next year and are preparing to perform at the Sfera MSG at The Venetianof that American city.

According to trade magazine Billboard, the Irish group will be the first to perform at the MSG Sphere at The Venetian in Las Vegas when the new auditorium opens in 2023.

The MSG Sphere is a stadium that will be used for music and entertainment shows in the shape of a sphere under construction in Paradise, Nevada, near the Las Vegas Strip and east of the famous Venetian complex.

According to information announcing U2’s arrival on that stage, the Irish group’s performances will be the first dates of a multi-show residency for the band at this state-of-the-art stadium.

Official residency dates have yet to be announced, though the Billboard report says the shows “will run for several months and run on non-consecutive days.”

The management of the band led by Bono, for now, has declined to comment on possible residency plans.

The MSG Sphere at The Venetian will be the first cutting-edge mega-venue to be installed in Las Vegas and promises a new concept of live entertainment. Officials described it as “the next generation of live entertainment, offering fans a multisensory experience of sound and light within the largest spherical structure ever created.”

To inaugurate such an advanced project, the parent company, Madison Square Garden Entertainment, wanted an iconic show to name the new stadium. That’s why the band chosen is U2, which rank behind only the Rolling Stones in the list of the highest-grossing touring groups of all time. Something that, without a doubt, determined the choice of the organizers.

The Irishmen’s last performance was the closing show on their album’s 30th anniversary tour. The tree of Joshuawhich was held on December 15, 2019 in Mumbai, India.

Next year promises to be a busy year for the band as, in addition to the shows at the new Las Vegas stadium, they will also have a series for Netflix about U2 history, which is still in production and, on the other hand, they are working on. a new album, the first since 2017.

For his part, recently, Bono announced the edition of his autobiography, Yield: 40 songs, one story, which will be released in November. In the book, each chapter is named after a U2 song, and there are also forty original drawings by Bono.
