The famous Canadian folk singer Joni Mitchell, handicapped since 2015 by a ruptured aneurysm, offered a surprise concert this Sunday at the Newport festival in the eastern United States, her first full set in 20 years.
The 78-year-old folk legend performed and sang a duet with country star Brandi Carlile on 13 songs, including some of her classics like A case of you Y now both sidesand delighted the audience with the electric guitar solo by just like this train.
Expected performance
She had already taken the stage for a tribute to her by other artists in Las Vegas earlier this year at the MusiCares gala that preceded the Grammy Awards ceremony, but it’s the first time she’s given a sold-out concert since 2002. Joni Mitchell had been the victim in 2015 of a ruptured aneurysm that had left her partially paralyzed and unable to speak for a time.
Joni Mitchell was a major figure in the folk rocker generation of the 1960s with hits like big yellow caban environmental anthem that he performed on Sunday, river Y Woodstockto the glory of the famous festival in which he had not yet participated in August 1969.
