Last night, in the main hall of the Besares Experience, the official launch of a new edition of the Buenos Aires International Music Fair (BAFIM) took place, which this year will take place from 16 to 19 November. In closing a recital by Feli Colina.

After 12 editions, BAFIM is one of the leading trade shows in the region and now promises a proposal that focuses on new trends, diversity, innovation, live music and industry at the federal and regional levels, in a joint work between the public and private sectors.

The calls will be opened progressively starting from today, for those who want to participate in the November face to face sections and in the previous virtual training sessions.

This edition features live performances by bands and soloists from all over the country; Face-to-face and virtual spaces for bonding, networking and pitching between professionals in the sector, with the presence of national and international guests.

Through Impulso Digital there will be a section of the campus through which independent projects from across the country will receive personalized advice from industry leaders and access professional content to study virtually synchronously.

An agenda of meetings, training and programs dedicated to the visibility and inclusion of women and dissidence in the Argentine music sector will also be developed.

In addition, there will be the classic “Mercadito”, a fair of records, vinyls, instruments and music books, with listening stations to find out about the latest releases, labels and artists.

BAFIM works as an export and link platform for music in Latin America. Through joint work between the public and private sectors, it promotes meetings between professionals in the sector to discuss current events in the sector and generate business opportunities. At the same time, it is an invitation to the public to get to know the latest musical news and to take advantage of the local artistic offer.

Calls to the various sections will be opened gradually and will be made before the four days that make up the central BAFIM event.

Registration for the BAFIM Campus will be valid until Wednesday 17 August, while in September it will be for the Showcases and in October for the Business Round.

The activities will take place in the Parque de la Estación, Ciudad Cultural Konex and on the BAFIM platform.

For his part, the general director of Cultural and Creative Development, Mora Scillamá, declared: “In Impulso Cultural we contemplate specific funding lines for the promotion of music. In the last year we have invested more than 240 million pesos in the sector, with the aim of contributing to the development of the City’s music industry. “

And she added: “In this sense, one of the axes that we propose in this new edition is diversity, and for this we are preparing activities for the visibility of women and dissidence in the music industry, which includes articulations with major players in that theme. such as Fem Market Noise and Amplify, the Mutek and British Council program for women’s visibility and dissidence in digital art.
