Renowned expert on the female universe, Ricardo Arjona successfully performed the first of seven sold-out concerts at the Movistar Arena on Friday evening.

Her main cronies were women between the ages of thirty and forty, as well as a tiny presence of men, who clearly acted as companions to their partners.

They looked very suggestive for the occasion: modern clothes, lots of lipstick on the lips and various perfumes, whose function was to spice up the night when the famous guest singer invited to a great musical banquet from a sentimental point of view.

The last time the Guatemalan had set foot on Argentine soil was in 2018, at the Campo Argentino de Polo. Then the pandemic happened, which was instrumental in the birth of his album black and whitethe latter part of which appeared late last year, and which he recorded at the legendary Abbey Road studios in England.

The start of the recital was announced at 9:30 pm, but it only took 16 minutes. Long ago, a DJ was in charge of warming up the mood with a long line of tunes that included the fantastic four of Liverpool and the Rolling Stones, going all the way to 80s dance music and including songs by Daft Punk and Bruno Mars, including the others. .other. At this point, the fans were all on their feet, moving their bodies with considerable anxiety.

The cameras focused on various rows of audiences at different points in the Movistar Arena. They all wanted to greet each other and see each other on the two huge side screens hanging on either side of the stage. Among the famous Claudia Villafañe and Guido Kaczka.

Suddenly, two giant balls appeared that ran, from end to end and from hand to hand, the entire field, like another entertainment proposal before the icing on the cake: the big concert that was about to arrive.

To boot

The stage and its setting were a luxury: in the background, a curtain with clear black and white images, which accompanied, song after song, the meaning of the lyrics in a representative and intelligent way. Women, couples, failed marriages, nature and loves forbidden or not.

A black grand piano in the center, with a chandelier on one side. On either side were two columns representing three balconies. From there, both the trumpet players and the drummer shone in different situations. Somehow, it represented the buildings of a city where there was one in the background in which the phrase “Black and White Condominium” stood out and on an adjoining roof was an illuminated poster with the image of Ricardo.

First, the side screens broadcast a video of the songwriter along with his musicians playing a rock while recording in London. Then came the nice band who supported the famous singer for almost two and a half hours, who began his career singing in the pedestrian street of Florida in downtown Buenos Aires.

On the left side, two choristers, one with braids in her hair, the other with long blond hair. They were accompanied by the wind instruments, which were a highlight throughout the entire recital, in every speech they had. On the right were the bassist, guitarists and violinist. The piano, meanwhile, was being played by an elegant musician wearing a wide-brimmed hat.

After an introduction of the powerful sound, which clearly reflected the talent of the entire musical company, Ricardo Arjona took the stage. Athletic in figure, he looked good-natured in a striking long black jacket with many buttons and trendy baggy pants that reached above the ankles, as well as wearing black trainers with white laces.

At first he sang on the tail of the piano, then down a staircase made of resonance boxes, as if it were a real recording studio. The table where the rest of the show was installed was black and white checkered, that is, all in the tone of the name of her last dish.

“If I Were”, from the album storiesmarked the beginning, and his lyrics generated euphoria in the crowd who filmed everything with cell phones on top, as well as singing incessantly.

Then came the premiere of die to livefrom black and whiteY Shebelonging to circus of solitudehis penultimate album, and with which he began to agitate his people with a specific appeal: “Sing, Argentina!”, he launched with impetus.

Some words

Immediately there was the first time that Arjona raised one of his ideas to his audience, in reference to the pandemic period we have had to go through in recent years.

“It’s been a long time. The world has gone madder than before. Things have gone extreme. They locked us up. They put us on our cell phones. We have become more atheists,” he stressed.

And he added, between seriousness and joke that «in the time of not doing 32 genres have appeared. People have appeared who have failed but today they are coaches. There were people who changed the vowels of the words: “Good night everyone”, I would say. Others have appeared asking why women earn less than men. Now, the important thing is that I’m happy to be here again, welcome! “

Almost without respite came a cataract of songs, accompanied at all times by the voices of their fans. It is gone Mushrooms, Apnea Y Love. Then he asked for a “little” for himself, greeting the women who kissed him everywhere from the front rows.

Arjona looked his admirers in the eyes, every song seemed to hear it and somehow theatricals them all with gestures, hand and shoulder movements, always with a fixed gaze on who was there to celebrate it.

for the theme accompany me to be alone, once again stuck with a concept referring to the type of man women like: “Sometimes you need a liar, who is the same one who lied to you. Let’s see, women accept anything but they don’t like being lied to. But if they remember the guy they liked so much and think about it, they know what he told them was a lie. That of giving credit to men and their lies … And there is a social silence. I only defend myself! ”, Ironically.

The auction came with a comparison: it spoke of a man who told his wife that he was traveling, but in two different versions: the first, commenting that he was having fun and the second that the place had nothing to do with other times: without night or anything else “because they like to be screwed when you are away from home,” he said.

For If north were south, His musicians went back to a semblance of rock for a moment, but it didn’t take long to get back to the classic ballad that the Central American-born vocalist brought to his career.

On the side screens you could see the sweat dripping down Arjona’s face, amidst purple and blue lights that illuminated him like the central figure of the night. As a result, he took off his jacket and was left in a buttoned, sleeveless tank top, over a tight black shirt that clearly denoted his skill with gym irons: the muscles of his arms well marked. Faced with this shocking image, female compliments resonated throughout the stadium.

Martha was another of the most popular songs, perhaps because it was consistent with the beginning of his career and one of his first lyrics that undoubtedly won the hearts of his local audience, as he talks about his life when he sang as a street artist in Buenos Aires and met a street prostitute, with whom he would fall in love, according to the text.

He did not miss the shots

Throughout the first night of a concert marathon that has yet to perform, the musician did not leave aside his exuberant hits such as Tell me no, Taxi Story (between salsa and pop, with timbales as main protagonists), Lady of the 4 decades or I love you.

In turn, and almost towards the end, there was an intimate moment: Ricardo returned to his acoustic guitar to perform other famous pieces from his repertoire: There are loves, Naked Y Minutes, Moreover. To engage with each other, before his pleading: “Are we already there?” he said so that they applauded him and asked for more and more.

A few minutes later one of the fun parts of the show arrived. It was when she invited her American guitarist Luisito to sing I know you. “A gringo who sings a song in Spanish without knowing how to speak Spanish, plus a ranchera”, smiled the star’s singer, until halfway through the song he added his voice to do a duet with his stage partner.

Until the last big press release of the night, which still had to do with a role of victim between joke and seriousness: «Things were difficult for us men. In the 90s we had the power and we lost it. We are now at the bottom of the social ladder under pets. “

She continued: “For women there are two types of men: what they like and what they don’t like. And usually she likes what approaches her and says ‘there are twenty-five ways to take your dress off.’ She immediately goes to chat on her cell phone to tell her friends that she has met a wild but at the same time tender boy. Now, if the guy doesn’t like you, he’ll call 911 right away, ”she concluded and got laughs from the crowd.

This started the song undressacclaimed for the integrity of his fans.

Fueste tú e Mujeres turned out to be the great auction of the first reunion in Buenos Aires with its fervent female audience, who never knew their right place, because they spent it standing without losing details on what that great was singing, making fun of or gesticulated. Platonic love named Ricardo Arjona, an established singer who knows female conquests better than anyone else.
