This version

The work is a story of human existence, a reflection on life and death, and the personal decision to live which represents the “deep self” that becomes a struggle, in search of happiness.

For its creator, Benteifour, the firm desire to live the love that unites Romeo and Juliet pushes them to follow the path of their own life, without obligations and with the only desire to be free. Get rid of the influence of their families, their city, society and even their own legend.

According to the French director, the sufferings of life and death lead them to seek a happiness that seems impossible, which will give them the necessary strength to never give up and go further in the independence achieved, guided by an honest commitment and an oath. which will strengthen them in their determination not to give up.

In the choreographic version of William Shakespeare’s classic tragedy, Romeo and Juliet are two beings intoxicated by love and free will. who, despite all their doubts, their anxieties, their passions and their questions, undertake this journey in the depths of themselves, to the point of freeing themselves from the destiny that has been imposed on them.

The protagonists live an impossible love in which the body and spirit, together with their emotions, their madness, their uncertainty, betray them, warn them, punish them, force them to fight to continue resisting, despite regret, and so try to win the arm wrestling game.

Redha Benteifour is currently one of the best choreographers in the world, having worked with some of the most prestigious international companies such as Alvin Ailey, The Royal Ballet, The Paris Opera. Additionally, her impressive resume includes work in film and television with personalities such as Roman Polanski, Alain Delon, Elton John, Vanessa Paradis and Michael Jackson, among many others.
