Death of Olivia Newton-John: Hollywood mourns the disappearance of the star of “Grease”

All of Hollywood reacted with emotion to the disappearance of the actress on Monday.

Australian actress and singer Olivia Newton-John, starring in the film fatShe has died at the age of 73, her husband announced Monday. She “passed away peacefully at her ranch in Southern California this morning surrounded by family and friends,” John Easterling said in the statement. She had been battling breast cancer for 30 years.

All of Hollywood reacted with emotion to the disappearance of the actress. “My dear Olivia, you have improved our lives. Your influence has been incredible. I love you very much,” John Travolta reacted. “She was and always will be an inspiration to me in so many different ways,” Australian singer Kylie Minogue wrote.

“Another angelic voice has been added to the Heaven choir,” singer Dionne Warwick added. “Olivia was not only a dear friend, but she was also one of the nicest people I had the opportunity to work with. I will miss her. May she rest in peace in my father’s arms.”

“She embodied pop music”

Director James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) confided his sadness after the death of Olivia Newton-John: “It was my first real crush when I was a child. I grew up with fat and his music. I also shopped and lived for a while in his fabulous house in Malibu.”

Edgar Wright praised the singer’s discography for his part: “Olivia Newton-John dominated the top sales as a child. She embodied pop music. Her song Xanadu It is a classic”. Spanish actor Antonio Banderas expressed his condolences to his family.

Olivia Newton-John rose to worldwide fame with her film role in the cult musical fatalongside John Travolta. To his credit some forty country and pop rock albums – including Physicalgreat success in 1981- and hundreds of concerts given all over the planet.

Since cancer had fallen on her at the age of 40 -breast cancer and mastectomy in 1992 and then two recurrences in 2013 and 2017, with metastases-, the star put all her energy and notoriety at the service of the fight against the disease .
