Ozzy Osbourne returns to the stage. On Monday, the rocker performed for the first time since his operation in June, at the closing night of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
The 73-year-old artist took advantage of this event to invite his buddy, Tony Iommi, guitarist for Black Sabbath, with whom he covered one of the group’s biggest hits, Paranoid.
“Ozzy is fine”
In mid-June, the rocker’s wife, Sharon Osbourne, had revealed on the British program The conversation that her husband was going to undergo a “very important operation” and that it would be “decisive for the rest of his life”.
The latter had subsequently reassured the artist’s fans on Twitter that Ozzy Osbourne was feeling fine and was slowly recovering from the operation.
“Our family would like to express their gratitude for the overwhelming amount of love and support leading up to Ozzy’s surgery! Ozzy is doing well and on the road to recovery! Your love means the world to him,” she had written.
ATV accident in 2003
If the reason for this surgery has never been specified, the leader and singer of the group Black Sabbath has been complaining for several years about a series of health problems.
Shortly before his operation, Ozzy Osbourne told the magazine Classic rock that he was still suffering from the repercussions of a quad accident in 2003 and that he was awaiting surgery. Suffer from Parkinson’s diseasethe rocker had also done it in 2019 a bad fall at home which resulted in the detachment of metal bars, placed in his spine after his quad accident.
In May, during his last public appearance to date, Ozzy Osbourne was seen leaning on a walking stick. The artist is due to resume his No More Tours 2 tour in 2023, and the dates have been postponed several times due to his health and the pandemic.
