Like Joel Coen with “MacBeth’s Tragedy,” the filmmaker will also direct a solo feature, co-written with his wife, Tricia Cooke.

If he had announced his retirement in 2021, preferring to dedicate himself to projects in the theater instead of directing feature films, the hiatus would have been short-lived for Ethan Coen.

First solo project

This will be Ethan Coen’s first solo feature film, after spending several years working with his brother Joel, who last January directed a black and white adaptation of macbeth for AppleTV+.

If the tone of this new project is still unknown, Ethan Coen seems to have found the main actresses of his film: Margaret Qualley (Once upon a time in… Hollywood) and Geraldine Viswanathan (Bad Education), as specified Term. Filming is scheduled for this fall.
