Alec Baldwin fatal shooting: FBI report claims actor pulled trigger

An investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation implicates the comedian, who claimed not to have pulled the trigger in an interview in December 2021.

Ten months after the shooting that claimed the life of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, an FBI investigation confirms that actor Alec Baldwin pulled the trigger and caused the fatal shot.

According to this report, revealed by the US network ABC, a “functional” revolver “cannot be fired without pulling the trigger”, unless it has been “directly hit” with the hammer.

“I didn’t pull the trigger”

In December 2021, Alec Baldwin claimed not to have pulled the trigger of the revolver in his hand when Halyna Hutchins was fatally shot on the set of Oxidea western of which he is also one of the producers.

“The trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger,” he said in the ABC interview, before adding that he had “no idea” how live ammunition could have been on the dash.

“I would never point a gun at someone by pulling the trigger. Never,” Alec Baldwin had claimed. According to the FBI report, authorities in New Mexico classified Halyna Hutchins’ death as an “accident.”
