A 10th installment in the “Saw” franchise is announced, due out in 2023

Saw X will be directed by Kevin Greutert, already in charge of Saw VI (2009) and Saw 3D: Final Chapter (2010). The producers announce a return to the sources.

Jigsaw isn’t dead yet. After the semi-success of Spiral Last year, the Lionsgate studio tried again to resurrect the successful franchise. saw. A tenth installment in the horror saga will be released in late October 2023, the studio announced Monday.

Saw X will be directed by Kevin Greutert, already in charge of Saw VI (2009) and Saw 3D: Final Chapter (2010). Greutert began his career as editor of the first five installments of the franchise (he also edited Puzzlein 2017).

According to information from variety, the story of this tenth part is kept secret. Lionsgate promises, however, that this new film “will surprise fans with some completely twisted and very clever embellishments, and a new mystery to solve.”

“We have listened to requests from fans and are in the process of planning a film that should appeal to fans of saw as fans of horror movies”, said Mark Burg and Oren Koules, the producers of the saga.

“And so we handed over the reins to Kevin Greutert, director of Saw VI, a fan-favorite movie of the series. We’ll tell you everything soon.”

the first film saw, directed by James Wan, was released in 2004. The franchise has grossed over $1 billion in total at the worldwide box office. The second part of the series, released in 2005, is the most profitable, with a turnover of 147 million dollars.
