The tributes came on Wednesday after his family announced the death of Rwandan R&B singer Yvan Buravan, who died of cancer at the age of 27 in India, where he had been receiving treatment since early August.
“It is with unimaginable sadness that we announce his passing tonight in India, where he was being treated for pancreatic cancer,” his manager said in a social media post on Wednesday.
And to add: “Yvan Buravan was a true soul who radiated happiness to everyone around him. He motivated all of us to love our country and our culture.”

Yvan Buravan, whose real name is Burabyo Yvan, was born on April 27, 1995, the last of six children. His first album mixed Afro, RnB and pop. He was awarded the RFI Discovery Award in 2018.
