An event that allows you to discover “the remodeling of the princely apartments, as well as the 600 m² of Renaissance frescoes rediscovered and restored since 2015”, indicates the city of Monaco.

Discovered by chance in 2013 during a restoration of the palace’s paintings, these frescoes inspired by ancient mythology also allow you to learn more about the history of the principality, Monaco boasts on Instagram:

“This discovery uniquely resonates with the very history of the Principality and its centuries-old ties to the Mediterranean world and the great myths that have shaped its culture and, more generally, its influence in the Western world.”

The frescoes were found to be in an excellent state of preservation. “We can say that we have preserved about 70%, or even a little more, of the existing fragments,” Marion Jaulin, head of the Monaco palace restoration site, told France 3.
