The filming of season 4 of Sex education started. The Netflix series, which follows the sexual travails of teenagers in a remote UK town, announced it on social media on Friday. The opportunity to also confirm the presence of the fans’ favorite comedians, and the arrival of a new actor to the cast: Dan Levy.
Known for his role as David Creek on the series Schitt’s CoveEmmy award winner, the Canadian will play Thomas Molloy, a well-known author and guardian of Maeve.
Maeve’s comrades, the inseparable Otis (Asa Butterfield) and Eric (Ncuti Gatwa), enter a new high school on her side, after theirs has closed. This establishment is, to their surprise, even more progressive than the one they studied at, according to a Season 4 recap revealed by Variety.
The departure of emblematic actors
If many other characters will return, from the great Viv (Chinenye Ezeudu), through the sporty Jackson (Kedar Williams-Stirling), the soulful Aimee (Aimee-Lou Wood) and the popular Ruby (Mimi Keene), other emblems will be missed again.
In recent months, Simone Ashley (Olivia), Tanya Reynolds (Lily), Patricia Allison (Ola), and Rakhee Thakrar (Teacher Emily Sands) have announced that they will not be returning for this new batch of episodes. However, six new main characters have been added.
Netflix has yet to announce a release date for season 4 of its hit series, the third installment of which aired in September 2021.
