HBO releases a new teaser for The idolseries co-created by the Canadian singer and Sam Levinson, creator of Euphoria.

We know (a little) more about The idol. The series piloted by the singer The Weeknd and Sam Levinson, creator of the phenomenon EuphoriaIt is revealed this Monday with a new teaser. A frenetic succession of short sequences that set the show’s sexy and irreverent tone, and that features the entire cast.

Announced in 2021, The idol chronicles the meeting between a rising American pop star, played by Lily-Rose Depp, and a cult guru, played by The Weeknd. the interpreter of I feel it coming will take his first steps as an actor in a major role, after appearing briefly in the film uncut gems.

The expanded cast includes singer Troye Sivan, singer Jennie Ruby Jane (of South Korean K-Pop group Blackpink), and Dan Levy, creator of the hit sitcom. Schitt’s Cove.

No release date has yet been announced for The idol, which will be divided into six episodes. But HBO, the American broadcaster, promises that it will be “soon”. The show’s production hit a snag when director Amy Seimetz left the project last April; the scenes had to be reshot to stick to the new art direction.
