The last visit of 2019
According to the chronicle of the show at Lollapalooza Argentina 2019, “The most drastic change that took place in the Arctic Monkeys, at least in the last two albums + the triptych that would make up the second of Last Shadow Puppets (everything you expect)it had less to do with the music than with the appearance of its singer, guitarist, pianist, crooner and everything in between.
Add to this that he put aside the guitar a bit and hugged himself and the piano with cravings for a morbid Englishman who became a resident of Los Angeles. Result: the last album is a stupidly rarefied simulacrum of glamor that here, live, plays little, spaced and at a certain point makes you want to press flashforward.
But Alex is also admirable when the dear old man sings I bet you look good on the dance floor, a la Tony Bennett. They started their careers with the desire to be one of the Strokes, but year after year they proved otherwise until they reached the tweed jacket.
Alex talks little or nothing tonight. These are the words of rigor that every gringo knows how to say when he comes to visit us.
There are classics that he stopped singing. An impossible case not to be missed is Mardy Boombut say he touched something Suck it and watch. We have seen Turner grow through videos and in all of his visits to the country. There is nothing left of the boy who performed a decade ago at the Luna Park, with the viola hanging like John Lennon, the hair of Nirvana and the talkativeness of Messi. After I AM -l’Album Bianco delle Monkeys- it seems that there is no ceiling, even if it is not easy and lately they have been repeated a bit “.
