Blondie has opened her vault and found unreleased songs and rarities that she will release in a large box

The Blondie group will release this Friday his first collection authorized in 50 years of career, a luxurious box set that includes 124 songs, 36 of them unpublished.

Blondie: Against the Odds 1974-1982 Out on August 26, the remastered music is accompanied by two volumes of album brochures, song-by-song commentary, a 120-page illustrated discography and dozens of previously unreleased photos.

For nearly two decades, most of Blondie’s audio and visual archive has been in the speakers of Blondie Stein’s guitarist in Woodstock, New York. Now, the work has been specially collected.

The sound comes from remasters of original analogue tapes which have been transferred to vinyl at London’s famous Abbey Road Studios.

The edition

In the box are the band’s first six studio albums: Blondie, Plastic Letters, Parallel Lines, Eat to the Beat, Autoamerican Y The hunteras well as the successes Heart of Glass, Atomic, Tide Is High, Sunday Girl, Rapture Y Call me.

The set also includes demos, notably the band’s first recording session, as well as alternate versions and outtakes.

The release includes liner notes by Erin Osmon; topic-by-topic commentary by Debbie Harry, Chris Stein, Clem Burke, Jimmy Destri, Nigel Harrison, Frank Infante and Gary Valentine; essays by producers Mike Chapman, Richard Gottehrer, and Ken Shipley; an illustrated discography of 120 pages and hundreds of period photographs.

The collection, published by UMe and The Numero Group, is pre-orderable and will be available in four formats: Super Deluxe for collectors, Deluxe 4LP, Deluxe 8CD and a 3CD edition.
