Madonna’s eldest daughter, Lourdes María Leónhe is 25 and has just released his first song, also debuting with his brand new stage name lolhol.
it’s called the single Lock key (lock and key) and is closer to the territory of electronic music than pop, with hints of jungle and drum’n’bass.
So far Lourdes had not shown a musical vocation, although it is true that she took piano lessons and did choruses in 2012 on her mother’s Superstar theme.
Usually has moved more into the world of dance, fashion and advertising. She studied at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theater and Dance and worked for brands such as Versace, Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, Burberry, Swarovski, Stella McCartney and Bimba y Lola.
A video with an urban look
Daughter of Madonna and her personal trainer Carlos Leon, Lourdes worked on this song with Eartheater, stage name of American singer and producer Alexandra Drewchin, known for her experimental electronics, who also directed the video clip.
In the video, Lolahol sports an urban style look with a touch of eccentricity in the style of friend singer Grimes. She dances and sings in a cemetery and on the outskirts of New York. Eventually, she appears on the beach dressed in a thong bikini as she dances on the shore.
Door lock&Key includes a reference to a viral moment from a 2011 interview in which Lady Gaga recalled her requests after becoming famous early in her career.
old claims
In an old report in Interview magazine, Lourdes said: “Honestly, the actors really bother me and I can’t be with them. Musically, I can sing. I just don’t care. Maybe I’m too close.”
Madonna fans have already discovered some coincidences with her mother’s career: Lourdes releases her first song at 25, like Madonna, who released her first single in 1983, Allafter years of training in dance, just like her daughter.
and the sound of Lock key has a certain resemblance to the electronics of Ray of lightof 1998, made just when she had just given birth to her eldest daughter.
The big difference, of course, is that Madonna once said that in New York she lived in apartments full of mice and ate popcorn just because it was cheap, Lourdes grew up as the daughter of a millionaire, between Los Angeles, New York and London.
“People think I’m a rich, untalented girl who has been given everything. But I’m not, ”the young woman said in the September 2021 issue of the US edition of Vogue.
