Sylvie Tellier leaves the Miss France committee

After seventeen years at the helm of the organization of the famous beauty pageant, Sylvie Tellier is stepping down from her position as general manager and handing over the command to Miss France 2005, Cindy Fabre.

After 17 years at the head of the Miss France committee, Sylvie Tellier relinquishes command. The director of the famous beauty pageant left office on August 30 to “devote herself to business projects,” according to a press release from the Miss France company.

A lawyer by training, the one who replaced Geneviève de Fontenay in 2007 now wants to take on other challenges, “without moving away from the world of the media”.

“I wanted to give my career a new direction. […] I want to undertake I love my country and we have tremendous assets to promote. That is why I would like to put my energy at the service of promoting France and its know-how”, he explains in an interview with the Figaro.

Honorary president

Sylvie Tellier will be replaced by Cindy Fabre, Miss France 2005 and former Miss Normandy, who will take over the leadership of the committee under the aegis of Alexia Laroche-Joubert (producer of Koh Lanta Where Fort Boyard) who chairs the Miss France society since 2021.

“I had so much pleasure in developing this emblematic company of French heritage. It is with great emotion that I thank the French people and all the institutions that have placed their trust in me throughout this human adventure. The 17 Miss France that I had the honor of guiding will hold a very special place in my life. […] Of course, I wish the new teams and Cindy Fabre much success,” said Sylvie Tellier in a press release.

In her capacity as ambassador, the new director Cindy Fabre will be in charge of organizing the competition at a national level, but also at a regional level. According to the Miss France company, this new organization will be effective from September, four months before the 2023 ceremony.

However, Sylvie Tellier will maintain the honorary title of honorary president of the Miss France society and will ensure the co-presentation of the 2023 ceremony, for the last time, next December alongside Jean-Pierre Foucault.
