“Versions of Me” is the fifth album in Anitta’s career. Before that, she released “Anitta” (2013), “Ritmo Perfeito” (2014), “Bang” (2015) and “Kisses” (2019). Recently Anitta made history by becoming the first Brazilian solo artist to place a song in the first position of Spotify’s Global ranking with the hit “Envolver”.

Despite the unprecedented feat, the hit was involved in a controversy. An article from the website Rest of the World suggested that the audience played with Spotify’s algorithm so that Anitta reached the top position of Spotify Global with the hit “Envolver”, on March 25th.

According to Spotify, the digital platform has tools capable of identifying whether there was fraud in the count of plays and will analyze whether the artist’s fans really used “robots” (bots) to play the song indefinitely.

Paulo Pimentacommunications and press officer for anitawrote an open letter denying the allegations and stated: “THEIt’s a good thing that mathematics doesn’t lie and that the vast majority of Brazilians are still proud of national artists and got involved with Anitta to the point of breaking barriers together that had never been surpassed before.”
