A message for his fans. This Friday, Jane Fonda revealed on Instagram that she was being treated for cancer. “I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and started chemotherapy,” the 84-year-old actress wrote.
“It’s a treatable cancer. 80% of patients survive, so I feel very lucky,” she says.
She is also taking advantage of this very special announcement to send very political messages, since the United States enters an electoral period. “I’m also lucky because I have health insurance and access to the best doctors and treatments. I realize, and it is painful, that I am privileged”, writes Jane Fonda.

The actress, who currently stars in the series grace and frankie, sometimes develops a discourse that pretends to be an environmentalist. “We must not only talk about treatments, but also about the causes, in order to eliminate them. People should know that fossil fuels cause cancer. Pesticides too,” she says.
It must be said that the one who has already had a mastectomy and a lip operation to remove tumors is very committed to the climate. She has been arrested on several occasions for protesting against polluting projects, such as in 2016 when she opposed the construction of an oil pipeline.
