Outaouais reported 109 hospitals on Monday, 10 more than Friday, according to data from the National Institute of Public Health of Quebec (INSPQ).
The number of patients with COVID-19 in intensive care in the region is also rising, with six patients affected, compared to four on Friday, according to information from the Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS). Outaouais
No further deaths were reported in the region. Their number remains unchanged and stands at 299 dead since the pandemic began.
Since Friday, the
INSPQ reports 206 new COVID-19 cases in Outaouais, out of a total of 38,679 cases so far. Outaouais currently has 868 active cases.ang
CISSS De l’Outaouais also specified that 146 of its employees are currently suffering from COVID-19.However, the number of cases may not represent reality, as access to PCR test evaluation services is restricted for several months.
In the province, Quebec had eight additional deaths and 2,345 people were hospitalized, including 86 in intensive care, Monday.
Rise in Ottawa hospitals
Across the Ottawa River, Ottawa Public Health (OPH) is also reporting an increase in hospitals.
Hospitals in Ottawa reported 31 people hospitalized at their toll on Monday, five more than Friday. Of these patients, four are in intensive care, the same number as on Friday.
No further deaths were recorded by
OPS over the past three days. The death toll from COVID-19 is still at 773 since the pandemic began.Besides this,
OPS reported 501 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, for a total of 70,669 infections so far, and reports 1,894 active cases in its territory. But again, the number of these cases may be underestimated due to the lack of access to PCR testing in Ontario.Added ten outbreaks in Ottawa,

In eastern Ontario, the trend is opposite with respect to the number of hospitals associated with COVID-19. The Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) lists 11 patients placed in a health facility because of the coronavirus, two of whom are in intensive care. In comparison, there were 16 hospitals on Friday, including 4 patients in intensive care.

EOHU there are currently 12 outbreaks in its territory and no further deaths were listed on Monday. Since the pandemic began, 226 people have died from the consequences of COVID-19 in Eastern Ontario.At the provincial level, Ontario reported on Monday an increase in hospitals for a total of 1,455. This equates to 93 additional hospitals compared to the previous day.
