This same center hosted a deadly outbreak in the fall of 2020. A total of 56 residents died and the tragedy led to an independent review of the province.

The letter sent by the Maples household indicates that the infected people are in sector 1 East (yellow and blue wing), 1 West (green, brown and red wing) and 2 West (green, brown and red wing) in second floor.

Visits to these areas were suspended, except for palliative care patients.

The home administration acknowledges in its letter thatit is very difficult for residents and their families not to see each other.

However, he assures us of that the residents are so well cared for, that they are inspected daily and adequately staffed. This last point has become one of the key factors in triggering the outbreak in 2020.

Infected staff were sent to home isolation.

On Friday, 70 home residents were eligible to receive their fourth dose of COVID-19 vaccine, according to the letter.

The county said by email Tuesday that it does not know the exact number of cases at the Maples home. He insists that the care center must take all necessary care and safety measures.
