Dr. Luc Boileau, acting national director of public health, invited the press to Quebec City at 11 am with Dr. Jean Longtin, microbiologist and clinical expert in supporting scientific pandemic management from the Ministry of Health and Social services (MSSS).

He will take the opportunity to present his latest recommendation, according to which wearing a mask should no longer be required in most public spaces starting May 14.

However, exceptions will be offered. Wearing a face mask, for example, should remain mandatory in public transportation and health establishments. In addition, the mask should remain recommended in some more dangerous situations, such as having vulnerable people.

This information, first obtained by The Journal of Quebecwas confirmed by Radio-Canada on Tuesday.

The presentation of the recommendation of Dr. Boileau on Wednesday morning should be quickly followed by a press release from MSSS proving that it will be implemented-a method adopted because public health and the Quebec Government have organized separate media events.

More details are next.
