Public health reported Monday that 1,634 people were hospitalized in Quebec because of COVID-19, 23 more than the previous day.

Of this number, 54 patients were in intensive care, 3 more than the previous report.

According to data from the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS), 105 additional COVID-19 patients were admitted to the hospital in the past 24 hours, while 82 patients were discharged.

Fourteen other patients also died of COVID-19, bringing the death toll to 15,298 since the pandemic began.

Quebec also identified 625 new cases of the infection, bringing the number of confirmed cases in Quebec to 1,058,691 since February 2020.

The positivity rate in Quebec is 6.4%, according to the latest data from MSSS.

However, the number of cases identified does not represent the situation, as access to screening centers is only possible for groups considered priority.

So far, more than 91% of Quebecers aged 5 and over have received a single dose of the vaccine for COVID-19, 55% have received the third dose and 13% the fourth dose, according to data from the Ministry of Health and social services of Quebec. .
