COVID-19 killed 3 more in Ottawa and 2 more in Outaouais

COVID-19 has not yet finished claiming the victims. Ottawa reported three new coronavirus -related deaths on Tuesday. On the other side of the Ottawa River, two deaths were recorded.

Using this new data, Ottawa Public Health now counts the deaths of 797 Ottawans since the health crisis began.

On the other hand, surgeries are declining in Ottawa Public Health (OPS) territory. Currently there are 11 in the region, 6 less than the previous day. No patients are in intensive care.

According to a report released on Tuesday’s OPS, 34 cases were added in the last 24 hours. This brings the number of active infections to 729.

In eastern Ontario, there is a stabilization of hospitals compared to the previous day: there are still 10. Slight differences about intensive care: only one counts, whereas there are two. Monday.

For deaths, the number remains stable at 226. The last death associated with COVID-19 in Eastern Ontario was from April 22.

Slight increase in deaths and hospitalizations in Outaouais

In Outaouais, two new deaths have reached a total of 312 since the COVID-19 pandemic began. These are the first deaths since May 5th.

Hospitals have seen a slight increase over the past 24 hours, with the addition of three new patients, including one in intensive care. According to the National Institute of Public Health of Quebec (INSPQ), a total of 68 hospitals, including 2 are fighting for their lives.
