COVID-19: 14 deaths and 35 fewer hospitals in Quebec

Public health reported Wednesday that 1,599 people were hospitalized in Quebec because of COVID-19, 35 less than the previous day.

Of this number, 48 patients were in intensive care, six fewer than previously reported.

According to data from the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS), 111 additional COVID-19 patients were admitted to the hospital in the past 24 hours, while 146 patients were discharged.

Fourteen other patients also died of COVID-19, bringing the death toll to 15,312 since the pandemic began.

Quebec also identified 728 new cases of the infection, bringing the number of confirmed cases in Quebec to 1,059,419 since February 2020.

The positivity rate in Quebec is 6.3%, according to the latest data from MSSS.

However, the number of cases identified does not represent the situation, as access to screening centers is only possible for groups considered priority.

So far, more than 91% of Quebecers aged five and over have received a single dose of the vaccine for COVID-19, 55% have received the third dose and 13% the fourth dose, according to data from Ministry of Health and Quebec Social Services. .
