Public health reported Friday that 1,493 people were hospitalized in Quebec because of COVID-19, 69 less than the day before.
Of this number, 51 patients were in intensive care, 2 less than the previous report.
According to data from the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS), 72 additional COVID-19 patients were admitted to the hospital in the past 24 hours, while 141 patients were discharged.
Twelve patients have also died of COVID-19, bringing the death toll to 15,338 since the pandemic began.
Quebec also identified 612 new cases of the infection, bringing the number of confirmed cases in Quebec to 1,060,657 since February 2020.
The positivity rate is 6% in Quebec, according to the latest data from MSSS.
However, the number of cases identified does not represent the situation, as access to screening centers is only possible for groups considered priority.
So far, more than 91% of Quebecers aged five and over have received a single dose of the vaccine for COVID-19, 55% have received the third dose and 13% the fourth dose, according to data from Ministry of Health and Quebec Social Services. .
