The Public Health Agency of Canada announced Tuesday that the border restrictions associated with COVID-19 will remain in place for at least another month.

Until at least June 30, all travelers, regardless of their immunization status, will therefore need to continue to submit their information using the free ArriveCAN application or the Canada Border Services Agency website.

Public Health made the announcement on Twitter on Tuesday morning, the day after the Commons rejected a Conservative opposition motion seeking to return immediately travel rules before the pandemic.

Certain pandemic -related restrictions are placed at Canadian airports and land borders, including vaccination passportrandom drug testing and requiring international travelers to answer pandemic-related questions on the ArriveCan app.

Specific restrictions vary depending on the age of the travelers, nationality and vaccination status.

Customs delays

The Canadian Airports Council recently blamed sanitary measures and inadequate staff for major delays in customs and security screening at airport terminals across the country.

These delays have resulted in lines being so long that, in some cases, the terminals do not physically contain them-and travelers are held up for long minutes on their planes after landing. in Canada.
