Government House Leader Mark Holland introduced a motion on Thursday afternoon to finalize the proposal next Monday.

Leaders of all parties in the Commons met to discuss it earlier this week and in a vote on Thursday the House unanimously agreed to suspend the vaccination requirement on Parliament Hill.

The Board of Internal Economy, an all-party committee that makes Parliamentary business decisions, decided in November to request proof of vaccination from anyone entering the parliamentary precinct.

The Internal Economy Board also agreed to make mask wearing mandatory until June 23, and allow Members of Parliament to participate remotely until that date, hybrid formatparliamentary debates and committee work.

The federal government also announced this week the suspension, next Monday, of the vaccination obligation for domestic and international flights, as well as for train travel in the country.
