Quebec public health reported on Friday 1,041 people hospitalized due to COVID-19, 12 more than the day before.
Of this number, 35 patients are in intensive care, 9 more than in the previous report.
According to data from the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS), 174 additional COVID-19 patients have been admitted to hospital in the past 24 hours, while 162 have been discharged.
Seven more patients have also succumbed to COVID-19, bringing the death toll to 15,545 since the start of the pandemic.
Quebec also lists 844 new cases of infection, which brings to 1,080,028 the number of confirmed cases in Quebec since February 2020.
The positivity rate is 9.8% in Quebec, according to the most recent data from the MSSS.
However, the number of cases identified is not representative of the situation, since access to screening centers is only possible for groups deemed to be priorities.
To date, more than 91% of Quebecers aged 5 and over have received one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 55% have received a third dose and 15% a fourth dose, according to data from the Ministry of Health and Quebec Social Services.
