Quebec public health reported on Wednesday 1,084 people hospitalized due to COVID-19, 43 more than the day before.
Of this number, 33 patients are in intensive care, 2 less than in the previous report.
According to data from the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS), 108 COVID-19 patients have been admitted to hospital in the past 24 hours, while 65 have been discharged.
Eight more patients have also succumbed to the disease, bringing the death toll to 15,553 since the start of the pandemic.
Quebec also lists 1,110 new cases of infection, bringing the number of confirmed cases in Quebec to 1,081,138 since February 2020.
The positivity rate is 9.8% in Quebec, according to the most recent data from the MSSS.
However, the number of cases identified is not representative of the situation, since access to screening centers is only possible for groups deemed to be priorities.
To date, more than 91% of Quebecers aged 5 and over have received one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 55% have received a third dose and 15% a fourth dose, according to data from the Ministry of Health and Quebec Social Services.
