A Facebook publication denouncing the possible resurgence of drug intoxication rape cases in bars in Trois-Rivières and repeated complaints from customers is of concern to young students as well as those with owner of the bar.
The bar owners in Trois-Rivières decided to take action to reassure their customers. After seeing an increase in complaints of drug poisoning in rape, a businessman decided to hand out glasses with lids to female patrons visiting his bar.
Another contacted Trois-Rivières police to find out how to pin down the offenders.
The third bar owner says he warned his employees of the dangers of GHB and raised awareness among his staff.
At Cégep de Trois-Rivières, some students suggest that we have identified that drug intoxication in rape is a common occurrence.

Another student said he only orders cans when he’s at the bar and he makes sure to keep them close to him all night.
We are all afraid to collect ourselves in a rape. No one wanted to go through here, so we went out in groups, trying not to be alonesaid his friend.
Several complaints were registered with Trois-Rivières police
Trois-Rivières police have not seen an increase in the number of date-rape drug complaints in recent weeks. Since the beginning of 2022, two to three files have been opened regarding involuntary consumption of GHB.
Trois-Rivières police spokeswoman Carole Arbelot encourages people who think they have been a victim to take a blood sample quickly, because the substance does not stay in the body for long. He then suggests filing a complaint with the police. The blood sample can serve as tangible proof.
” We hear the rumor, but we can’t do anything about it, people who have filed a complaint need to start an investigation. “
The Mauricie-et-du-Center-du-Québec Integrated University Health and Social Services Center (CIUSSS MCQ) could not say whether any patients were hospitalized in connection with rape drugs to date in recent weeks.
