The public speaking competition organized by the Canadian Parents for French organization is the largest annual French speaking competition at the national level. This year again, the competition will take place almost.
On Prince Edward Island, many students participate each year, young and old, to have the chance to win a prize or scholarship to a post-secondary institution, as explained by Lucie Newson, general manager of Canadian parents for French in the province.
” For us, it’s about encouraging students to have good communication skills for their future. Many youths are embarrassed to speak in public. Competition is used to encourage them, to have pride in speaking French, skills to show themselves, to speak well in public, to have more confidence. “
The deadline to enter the competition is May 13.
