Fatal train accident at Dorval station, BEI has opened an investigation

The Bureau of Independent Investigations (BEI) will investigate the incidents of police intervention, on Friday night, involving the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

The investigation has to do with the death of a man in a train accident that occurred around 11:40 p.m.

The victim was an individual arrested by police from station 5 of the neighborhood, Pointe-Claire, west of the island of Montreal, about twenty minutes ago, for drunkenness on a public highway.

As reported in EIBthe man left the police after a brief discussion in just a few minutes.

Several police vehicles were parked near the railroad tracks.

The exact area of ​​intervention was not specified by the BEI, such as the area where the fatal railway accident occurred.

Five investigators from EIB need to go to the scene to start the investigation. The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) will serve as the police support service on this file.
