Two people were taken to hospital after a train collided with a vehicle Friday night in south Winnipeg, police said in a statement Saturday morning.
The crash happened near Bairdmore Boulevard at the Letellier crossing, according to a Winnipeg police Twitter post just after 6:30 pm Friday.
Emergency crews responded to the call about the accident around 5:45 p.m.
The driver and passenger of the vehicle, all men, were taken to the hospital in good condition, police said.
Shortly after the accident, the wreckage of the vehicle was still in front of the locomotive, with the roof blown off.
Bairdmore Boulevard was first closed to traffic after the crash, but reopened 4 hours later, police said.
No further details were provided by law enforcement.
