The Department of National Defense said there was no suspicion of foul play behind the deaths of four officer cadets at the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston last week.
The department said the Canadian Forces National Investigation Service, the local military police detachment and Kingston police are supporting an ongoing coroner’s investigation into the incident.
Officer cadets Jack Hogarth, Andrei Honciu, Broden Murphy and Andres Salek, all about to graduate, died Friday morning on the Kingston campus when their vehicle plunged into Lake Ontario at Point Frederick.
A ministry statement says no further information will be released until the coroner’s report is completed.
The weight of the grief is felt throughout the Royal Military College community, according to the ministry.
National Defense asks anyone with information about the deadly incident to contact investigators.
