A garbage truck that lost control due to a faulty braking system ended its dramatic run against a residence on Friday morning in Saint-Côme-Linière, in Beauce. Fortunately, no one was inside the building, which collapsed on the force of the impact.
The accident occurred around 9:45 a.m. at the intersection of 15th Street (route 275) and Principale Street.
According to the Sûreté du Québec, the driver of the truck with the color of the Sanitaire Fortier company was traveling down 15th Street when there was a mechanical defect in the vehicle’s brakes.

Unable to slow down and stop the vehicle, the driver continued on 15th Street, where it forms a T-intersection with Main Street.
The runaway truck crashed into a residence a short distance away from Principale Street, right next to a building that houses a Caisse Desjardins.
The collision caused residential collapse. Fortunately, none of its occupants were on the scene when the accident occurred.
Despite the force of the impact, the driver of the truck escaped with minor injuries.
