At the trial of the alleged perpetrator of the saber attack in Old Quebec on Friday, the latter’s lawyer tried to show that psychiatrist Sylvain Faucher was biased when he examined his client.
In his report, Dr. Faucher came to the conclusion that the killer had committed a sensational act with the aim of attracting attention and feeding his narcissism.
He partially explained his diagnosis by the fact that the accused had lacked attention in his youth.
Carl Girouard’s lawyer Me Pierre Gagnon criticized him for targeting the lack of attention without explaining in his report where his client was lacking in the matter.
