Chelsea Poorman’s relatives gathered Sunday in Vancouver to pay tribute to the girl who was found dead in April, more than a year and a half after her disappearance.

Members of his family explained that they were not satisfied with the conclusions of the authorities in this case. They are still waiting for an answer about what happened.
We will fight Chelsea. We will fight to find out the truth about what happened to him. We won’t let them say it’s not suspicious and there’s no foul playcried the girl’s mother Sheila Poorman.
Earlier this week, Vancouver police said Chelsea Poorman’s body was discovered by construction workers. According to the coroner’s inquest, it was not a suspicious death.
Other members of the indigenous community also called for justice at the rally. According to them, steps need to be taken to prevent the disappearance of other indigenous women.
Systems need to be put in place so that we don’t lose Chelsea again. [Les femmes disparues] are not just statistics, they are nameslamented Audrey Siegl, of Musqueam First Nation.
Chelsea Poorman’s family said they wanted to focus on her funeral before asking further questions about the case.
