A formal notice was sent to former Faubourg Mena’Sen administrators.

Me Louis Fortier, an attorney from Sherbrooke, believes the sale of Faubourg Mena’Sen to private interests is illegal. He sent a formal notice to five former administrators of the non-profit organization responsible for the sale.

In claiming to act on behalf of a citizen, Me Fortier contends that administrators have failed in their obligations, especially in acting with honesty and integrity in the interest of the legal person. If the citizen did not wish to proceed, Mr. Fortier indicated, however, that he himself would file a formal notice.

The lawyer summoned administrators to rectify the situation before May 17, under penalty of legal proceedings.

What the administrators appear to have done is a serious attack on the mental, physical and financial security of older people and this type of behavior should be seriously tolerated.

He also plans to file an ethics complaint with the Barreau du Québec syndicate against Me Serge Dubois, who acted in the media as a spokesperson for former administrators.

In an interview with Radio-Canada last week, Me Serge Dubois insisted that the sale was legal and that its terms were in the private domain.

Contacted by Radio-Canada on Tuesday night, the lawyer had not yet responded at the time of writing these lines.
