The owners of a Drummondville residence who have been trying to evict their tenant for months have finally won their case with the Administrative Housing Tribunal (TAL). The couple said they were afraid of their tenant, and said they were forced to live with relatives for several weeks because of his violent and threatening behavior, and because he did not pay his rent.
In a recent judgment, the NLP
ordered the tenant to evict their property. Framed by police, the individual followed Tuesday.Owner Léa Marcucetti said she was relieved to return to her duplex and said her fears were legitimate. At his request, he provided an audio recording in which the tenant mentioned the presence of weapons, and he could use them as needed.
There are the moves. They pulled out the gun, a big gun […] that was his home upstairs when he threatened to use those weapons. He even intimidated our neighbors on the opposite side when he came out in the midst of the crisis. This is a huge big relief. It will end and we can return to normal life.
He now hopes that other owners like him can avoid such a fate.
