At a time when all eyes are on the edge of street gangs escalating shootings in the greater Montreal area, Radio-Canada found out that criminal bikers have already begun their “big spring cleaning”.
This was said by a police source, who makes a link to two crimes committed recently in the metropolis.
First, the murder of Stéphane Dupuis, who was shot on April 12 at the entrance to a car wash on Metropolitan Boulevard.
And then the murder of a 36-year-old man, Wednesday at 4:25 pm, at the corner of the boulevards Saint-Michel and Crémazie Est. According to information from Radio-Canada, the victim will be Sébastien Giroux.
The 30-year-old was found motionless between two vehicles in the parking lot of a business. He was allegedly shot in the face. His death is pronounced on the spot.
Giroux is suspected by police in connection with hitman Frédérick Silva, who was sentenced to life in prison in February after being convicted of three homicides.
Sébastien Giroux will return to court to accept his sentence after announcing his intention to plead guilty. He was charged in December with conspiracy after the fact following the murder of Daniel Armando Somoza-Gildea, allegedly committed by Silvasays another source familiar with the matter.
Sébastien Giroux was also close to Jean-Richard Larivière, also known by the nickname Race and a member in good standing of the Hells Angels, Montreal section.
For former police officer André Gélinas, it’s not surprising to see Hells Angels firing at human targets.
This is a worrying situation. Everyone is watching street gangs in their brutal public hunt, but you have to remember that criminal organizations all have their own problems to deal with.commented André Gélinas, former detective sergeant of SPVM in criminal intelligence.
What surprised him about the murder of Sébastien Giroux was the chosen moment in the middle of rush hour in full view of dozens of motorists caught in traffic at the entrance to the Metropolitan highway.
According to Mr. Gélinas, this modus operandi represents a blatant disrespect for public life when firing a gun in the middle of the street.
History biker wars in the mid -90s have taught us that the more criminal organizations cross borders, the more the political establishment will increase police budgets because of popular pressure that will continue to increase. the retired police officer added.
